Audio volume guide

Use this tool when an audio file is too quiet, too loud, or needs a quick browser-only loudness adjustment before delivery.

Best uses

  • Lift a quiet voice note, meeting clip, tutorial narration, or sample recording.
  • Reduce loud previews before sending them to a client or collaborator.
  • Make quick volume changes without opening a full audio editor.

How it works

The browser decodes the uploaded audio, applies the selected gain level, clamps unsafe peaks, then exports the adjusted result as WAV.

Supported files

Upload common browser-readable audio files such as WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, or FLAC. Browser support can vary by operating system.

Privacy and limits

The file stays in your browser. Large recordings can be slower to process, and increasing gain too much can make the audio distort.

Common issues

  • Very high gain settings can create clipping or harsh peaks.
  • Very low gain settings can make speech difficult to hear after export.
  • If only one section needs adjustment, trim the audio first and then change volume.
